Appalachian cooking and Recipes - FB - 140 year old recipe
Ingredients
Large Eggs: 4 Each
Self-Rising Flour: 1/2 Cup
Milk: 2 Cup
Coconut Flakes (As Needed): 2 Cup
Vanilla Extract: 1 TSP
Granulated Sugar: 1 3/4 Cup
Unsalted Butter (Room Temp): 1 Stick
Instructions
Important combine all of the Ingredients in order given or it won't come out right. Mix well
Butter a large deep dish pie plate well
Pour in mixture and bake at 300 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour And lightly brown
Cool completely and chill This pie makes it's own crust while it bakes
It is the best one I have found so far And it has been in my son's family for well over 140 years and pass down through the generations
